120109 GondwanaSound is BACK and wishing you a Happy, Prosperous and Peaceful New Year

[simplenews]

Yaayyyyy after a six month break GondwanaSound is back with cod ethno muso ramblings, mispronunciations, politics but above all news and reviews of some of the best music on the planet.

The first broadcast is Monday January 9th at 14:00 live from the studios of Sheffield Live! 93.2FM we're excited and nervous and hope that broadcasting is rather like riding a bicycle, once the skill is learnt its never forgotten. That said we'll probably have a wobbly take off, scrape our knees and I'm dreading pressing the wrong button or leaving the mic fader open before the hour is out.

Anyway enough of that ..... we've got six months to catch up on and a year to look ahead to. I was at Musicport filming Hugh Masekela, covered WOMAD and flew off to Borneo again for Sarawak's 13th Rainforest World Music Festival, Angelina and Ricardo were at the FMM Sinnes Festival in Portugal, Melstar was at Africa Oye so we have plenty of music, interviews and opinions to bring you, until it all starts again next summer.

Now.....facebook.....somehow they have mysteriously turned of the account, somethig to do with having a profile that is being run under a pseudonym and not my real name. ie GondwanaSound not Jill Turner so now I am required to send my passport and proof of address to get the GondwanaSound account back. This leaves me feeling a bit nervous. So whilst I figure all of this out, please make full use of the GondwanaSound website ( we'll be turning on the comment's function soon) plus you can follow or communicate with me through Twitter @ GondwanaSound.

Also, whilst I am facebookless please post and repost the links to the podcasts through your own facebook accounts. You'll find the podcasts at http://www.mixcloud.com/gondwanasound/
Apparently if you tweet and post the links on facebook lots of times it moves the broadcast up the ranks and into the "hot" spots where fame and glory await !!

Some news posted on the website for you:
