Hello I hope all is well in your world and that you have had a good week.
We've been spending time at GondwanaTowers thinking about redecorating and what colours to paint the walls. I quite fancy a light heather/lilac colour but have been cautioned with the words "you dare and I'll kick you out" - a tad harsh I think for such a light joyful colour that I'm quite tempted. At least we have walls to paint, I'm really shocked by the images coming in from Texas and tornado alley. Our thoughts are with people who have lost everything including their homes.
Well, its on to the big news story and what ever your view is on the Royal wedding we hope you enjoy the treat we have for you today. Olivia Gray has been burning the midnight oil and has produced a round the world music adventure with a twist....Estonian cathedral bells, Indonesian gamelan, chinese grass leaves, giant mbira from Uganda, Egyptian frame drums all go to make an alternative wedding soundtrack that wouldn't be complete without a bit of Blakna Brass and a smattering of Bollywood. Hope you can tune in live on Friday morning 9am BST on sheffield Live 93.2Fm and around the world on http://www.sheffieldlive.org - and it will be podcast as usual.
Please go to our website there's bags of info on new releases with more to come, plus those Songlines music award winners and you can also print off the programme of events for Manchester's Cultural Collage World Music Festival.
The festival has seen organic growth from its roots in Geli Berg's radio show of the same name on Manchester's All FM radio station. Its sucess is also down to Geli's team, their unceasing hard work and dedication to music.
