Call for Submissions and Collaborations for Sensoria 2011 - calling musicians, filmmakers, venues

Through Sensoria Festival of Film, Music & Digital we have had the UK premiers of "I Bring What I Love" a film following Youssou N'Dour and the making of his album Egypt plus the Palestinian Hip Hop film, Sling Shot Hip Hop, plus New Weird America the Harry Smith story... Sensoria will be back for its 4th edition in April/May 2011 and are calling for submissions and collaborative partnering..

The festival is expanding from 7 to 10 days and the SensoriaPro industry event is expanding from 1 to 2 days.
Dates are 29 April - 8 May 2011.
SensoriaPro Industry Event will be 5 & 6 May.

As a reminder guests so far have included Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, Nitin Sawhney, Mark Kermode, John Robb, The Comsat Angels, Jon McClure, Richard H Kirk (Cabaret Voltaire), British Sea Power, Julien Temple and many more. In addition to its home at the Showroom in Sheffield, events have taken place across the city and at venues including Sheffield Cathedral, Grosvenor House Hotel, the historic Butcher Works courtyard, guerilla-style projections around the city, Sheffield Law Courts and an underwater music system in Ponds Forge swimming pool.

The festival crosses musical genres and has celebrated everything from Americana/folk, indie and electronica through to rockabilly.

CALL FOR ENTRIES
Sensoria is now looking for exciting new work in the realms of music, film and digital – this can include fiction features or short films with an innovative soundtrack or score, music related biopics, music documentary and truly exceptional music video. Films should have been completed after 2008.

Sensoria is particularly looking for music-related submissions that outline how their proposed project or performance includes an innovative, exciting use of visuals.

There is no submission fee.

Submissions should include a CD/DVD/MP3, short synopsis, two production stills and full contact details and arrive no later than 19 November 2010 at the following address:

COLLABORATIONS
We love working with presenting partners - we've worked with lots of regional and national collaborators including Lovebytes, Off The Shelf, Tramlines, 2Weeks 2Make It and many more, if any organisations, artists, venues, curators or collectives want to get involved in our 10 day fest including May Day bank holiday celebrations then please do get in touch (sooner the better!).
