Alex Stewart ( The Flying Carpet) and Jamie Renton ( Chilli Fried ) have been playing out for a number of years, creating some of the most friendly live music nights in London and treating punters to a wonderfully eclectic dancefloor mix of global beats in the process. Coming together as Flying Chilli Beats they'll be mixing up the global beats and grooves at Musicport and working the dancefloor for the second year running. To get an idea of what we might be treated to, I asked Alex and Jamie who is rattling their headphones....no conferring.
Is this the point when we find out, that in actual fact they have absolutely no common interests or musical tastes. You can compare and contrast their top ten picks below.
In radioland I research the music and prepare a playlist, live djaying is very different as Alex says, " Here is a top 10 for tonight! As you know we never prepare a set list we just play a tag game, each responding to what the other has played before, an old fashioned soundclash! So here are a few tracks that I hope will get some play at Musicport."
You can hear a slice of Alex's Musicport Mix on GondwanaSound in the meantime for you to explore, here's their lists.
