Album of the week : Ninalik Ndawi from the Lani Singers on Dancing Turtle Records.
There's a strong theme of singing through out this week's broadcast which starts off with the three poppy worldy tunes. Its a miracle that our album of the week was ever produced and if you are caught with a copy in West Papua it could kill you. You'll find out why in the broadcast.
My live guest in the studio is Leeds based Sue Miller who is band leader of Charanga Del Norte. A self confessed obssesive when it comes to Cuban dance music of the the 1950's, Sue celebrates 10 years history since forming her band and of visiting Cuba, initially on a wing and a prayer to try and meet her idol Richard Egues and latterly to study with the veteran musicians. Listen to the broadcast to find out what happened on her first trip during a cyclone.
We also fit in some singers from last weekend's Musicport festival and finally allow enough time to squeeze a clubGondwana track in.
