A whole season of new Compass Club music events starts this month at the Coliseum, Whitby. Musicport organiser Jim McLaughlin said " It's good to have found a new home for these events and having used the Coliseum on several occasions before we know it offers the flexible space we need for the wide variety of music (and more) on offer."
The first 8 concert programme of the year includes appearances by John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett , the Cuban singer Yusa & the lead singer of The Inspiral Carpets.
The season kicks off on Friday 20th February with signed band The Steady Boys supported by Three Foot Ninja. The Steady Boys from Bishop Auckland are a recent signing to the Rocker Revolt Label and their brand of Clash-inspired punk has been described as "The Clash meets Specials meets Rancid".
"We thought we'd get the season off to a rip-roaring start and I reckon this is the band to do it . With young local band Three Foot Ninja in support it should be a great night of rock music and a great way to see in Musicport's 10th anniversary year. We called these events The Compass Club as we hope to bring music from all directions to Whitby and we think this programme certainly does that"
Tickets are £6.50 (£5 concessions). Doors 8pm . Music starts 8.30pm
