European World Music Charts Top 20

Welcome on board another around the world music adventure. Its the first one of the month so we focus on the European World Music charts as compiled by Johannes Theurer and Tobias Maher in partnership with the European Broadcasting Union and courtesy of World Music night.

Three events have converged today, the passing of Archie Green who co-edited The Big Red Song Book, the release by Proper of their latest box set, The Little Red Box of Protest Songs and finally the G20 summit in London - so it seems appropriate to open with Bob Miller's song from the late 1930's Bank Failures from the Proper Box set.

As David Byrne comes to Sheffield we play the Sex Patels track Once in a Lifetime.
