It's not world music, but it's a great selection of events, from 1st - 11th July. Highlights could possibly be squeeezing in to Rony Robinson's loft for a night of Dylan ( Bob that is), The Djangonauts brand of Gypsy Swing, part of a Jazz night at the Fleur de Lys on the 5th and the ever entertaining Bob Hall at the Crown. What's so special about Totley? Award winning songwriter Sally Goldsmith will help Totley residents, including people at the Cheshire Home, to write a brand new song celebrating the place where we all live. No need to have any experience of writing, singing or music - just to be able to talk, share ideas and have some fun.

Totley's own Walker family, Howard (Vocals), Chris (Guitar) and Kevin (Double Bass) are joined by Piero Tucci (Piano, Sax, Accordion) and Phil Johnson (Drums, Guitar) for an evening of entertaining, accessible instrumental and vocal jazz.

Tuesday 7th July Bring ‘n’ Sing Bob Dylan!
Rony Robinson will host this evening in his attic (note – you need to be able to climb steep stairs). There will be a songbook, various Dylanalia (lots of books), maybe a DVD screening of "I'm Not There" and a quiz. There will be an array of harmonicas, a wheezy accordion, two out of tune autoharps, bits of percussion and a piano. Bring your own guitar - or just your voice - and a bottle of wine to share. It's all good!

The children of All Saints Primary School will sing and play instruments - piano and recorder to entertain some of Totley more senior music-lovers in the school hall. Tea and buns provided by the Parent/Teachers Association.

The Bob Hall Show evening
Acknowledged as Britain’s finest blues and boogie pianist, Totley resident Bob Hall brings an evening of pure musical enjoyment. Bob’s piano style and song-writing have influenced generations of piano players on both sides of the Atlantic. Diminutive dynamo, Hilary Blythe adds rock-steady bass and crystal clear gospel and classic blues vocals.
