Kadialy Kouyate & Sound Archive perform original music inspired by his West African griot roots. Weaving sparkling melodies on his kora. With Fred Thomas on double bass, Lucy Railton on cello and Ben Bryant on percussion.
Kadialy Kouyate comes from a long line of 'griots' he draws on his West African heritage and its traditional songs to create his own mesmerising compositions. Kouyate has branched out across musical genres to great critical acclaim, collaborating with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, New York based jazz ensemble MALIcool and Trinidadian steel pan player Fimber Bravo. He has given numerous BBC broadcasts. His latest project is with Sound Archive.
