Following a year which has seen Britian’s first elected Nazi MEPs and Nick Griffin’s hideous performance on the BBC’s “Question Time” in October, we must draw strength from the inspiring Stoke festival in May and look ahead to the fight of 2010; when the BNP will push for seats in parliament.
The event will bring together sections of society that oppose fascism including trade unions, Muslim, Jewish, Christian and other faiths, black, Asian, lesbian, gay and disabled communities and will allow us to come together to discuss strategies that have been successful in defeating fascism and organise activity across the country to stop the BNP in these elections. There will be a number of workshops and debates, including a major session to organise this year’s Love Music Hate Racism Carnivals taking place in London and Manchester.
Special guests including musicians and artists will be announced shortly but speaking elsewhere at the conference are:
Peter Hain MP
Billy Hayes Communication Workers Union
Edie Friedman JCORE
Ken Livingstone Chair UAF
Weyman Bennett UAF and Anti Nazi League
Sabby Dhalu UAF and National Assembly Against Racism
