Press release form Fellside : The Hut People are Sam Pirt accordion and Gary Hammond percussion who release their debut album,Home Is Where the Hut Is Sam has a wealth of experience in the folk world, he has been going to and playing at folk festivals before he could walk! In 1999 He won a BBC Young Folk Award with the band 422. Gary’s musical journey began in the jazz world and moved very slowly into the world music sphere. on the way he took a detour and entered the pop world with The Beautiful South which lasted 12 years. This brought him to Hull where he had the good fortune to meet Sam.

They got together and what you hear live and on the CD came out of these jam sessions. Sam and Gary have discovered a whole new world of folk music, combining Folk and World sounds. They listen to and play music from all around the world. From Sussex to the Shetland islands onto Scandinavia with fleeting visits to Louisiana and Brazil. This is an unusual and refreshingly different pairing and reaction to the duo has been extremely encouraging.

Its the album of the week on GondwanaSound 20th January.
Originally scheduled for release on 25th January the album will be available to buy on 1st February.
