Resident DJ's Jill Turner ( GondwanaSound) purveyor of global roots and grooves, and MC Melstar ( United Nations) with an ear for a beat, create a new night in the heart of the city of Sheffield. Come join us....special guest DJ Jen Wah Zee ( Afroturf)
GondwanaSound leaves the confines of the radio studio, packs up some tunes in an old kit bag and takes to the road to bring you a new weekly night at SAWA in the centre of Sheffield ( next to the Ethio/ Cuban restaurant and opposite TJ Hughes).
Every Thursday evening from 20:30 - 00:00 we aim to create a night where you can come and drink tea,coffee, alcohol or soft drinks, play dominoes, dance and catch up with friends. Sharing our passion for music from around the world and with more than a passing nod to the old C90 tapes we'll be running 45 minute djay relays, chilled out and jumped up sessions.

Holding it down on the night are resident DJ's Melstar ( United Nations) and Jill Turner ( GondwanaSound) plus guests including DJ Jen Wah Zee ( Afroturf).

Jill will be in a rebellious mood, as the African Soul Rebels tour kicks off in the UK we clebrate with music from Oumou Sangare ( Malian Roots Soul Diva) TP Orchestre Poly Rythmo ( the funkiest band from Benin and possibly the whole of West Africa) and The Kalahari Surfers.
