Album of the Week : Coba Coba from Novalima on Cumbancha
We continue to mine the seams of our music blog of the month, Global Grooves and bring you some vintage vinyl from Sugar Belly Combo and Empire Bekuba DU Grand Kalle amogst others. There's new releases from Calypso Rose, La Brass Banda, Extra Golden, Los Destarados and some new fusion music from Gwybodaeth Amgen of North Wales, old favourites from the Preservation Hall Jazz band, Massive Attack, Nour, Cedric IM Brooks....and we have another eclectic mix.
Latin melodies, natty break beats, big afro rhythms, electronica, vintage analogue tape echoes, dubby sirens and muted horns. Put this together with a full array of percussion and there’s even an expectancy of a full on drum and bass session and if the bass lines get deeper it may even break out into dubstep……… .. what on the Cumbancha label ?
