The fifth Wychwood Festival usually marks the start of the green field festival season. Bathed in sunshine with some great acts including, Dub Colossus, Kissmet, Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara, Bellowhead amongst others, Adrian Phillips and Lisa Coleman sent their report for GondwanaSound.

Transglobal Underground founder member Count Dubullah (aka Nick Page) blends Ethiopian traditional music, 60s and 70s Ethiojazz and the dub reggae sound of the Abyssinians, the Mighty Diamonds and Sun Ra, with a 12-piece band featuring, direct from Ethiopia, 'Mimi' Zenebe (‘the Ethiopian Edith Piaf’), Tsedenia Gebremarkos (Best East African Female Singer, Kora Awards), Teremage Woretow (on Mesenqo, one-string fiddle), Ethiojazz pianist Samuel Yirga, and Feleke Hailu (judge of Ethiopian Idol).

Dub Colossus confirmed as headline act for Wychwood

Nick Page's project Dub Colossus has been confirmed as the final headline act for the Wychwood Festival. Recently number one in the European World Music charts, the album "In A Town called Addis" also appeared in many music lovers top ten for 2008 and follows great applause at Glastonbury and the Barbican.
