Album of the Week : Sory Kandia Kouyate - La Voix de la Revolution on Sterns

Welcome to another round the world music adventure which starts with the voice of the Gypsy Kings, Nino Baliardo who's just released an album Picasso. There's been a flurry of notable new releases including the Rough Guide to Morocco which comes with a bonus cd Tajine Electrik from Groupe Mazagan. Today's broadcast is all about new releases and one we have been playing the most is the two cd set on Sterns documenting the career of Sory Kandia Kouyate, West Africa's best loved singer. Pure class and we hope you enjoy the selections.

We follow that with fellow countryman Ba Cissoko and a topical track from his fourth studio album, Nimissa and then Amadou Diagne, Africa Stop Wars. Amadou Diagne won World Music Network's battle of the bands and received an album deal with Riverboat Records. With a developing them of peace and reconciliation we continue with a track from the Toureg fund raising album for refugees in North Mali and a track from Kayhan Kalhor.
